About Ravi.
Ravi Sawhney is an industrial designer and the founder of Eydora and of RKS Design. He studied industrial design at California State University, Northridge, and ArtCenter College of Design, began his career in Xerox’s Advanced Development Group at Xerox PARC, and founded RKS Design in 1980.
He created Psycho-Aesthetics®, a design methodology that maps how people think and feel about a product to decide what is worth building, and why people will choose it. He first put it to work in 1982, and RKS Design has applied it for more than 45 years. Eydora makes that methodology repeatable, as a human-centered product strategy and adoption prediction platform.
Ravi is named on more than 500 patents and has won more than 200 design awards, including IDEA, Core77, Edison and Spark awards. He was named a Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) in 2009 and a Distinguished Alumnus of California State University, Northridge, in 2013. Products from his practice include Teddy Ruxpin, the MiniMed 507 insulin pump, work for Unilever, and RKS Guitars.
